I enjoy painting the figure as much as painting out doors and this is a small sample of works -- some with a theme, some without. I am currently exploring a long term study of figures with an American roots music connection, including jazz and acoustic blues... 

This collection is from painting trips from the coast of SW Washington state to Baja, Mexico -- most are done in plein air (on location) which are also used to create bigger paintings in the studio. Still largely undeveloped, the Oregon coast is a joy to explore and paint with a variety of scenic diversity -- everything from rocky cliffs to forests that touch the shore...

As the title implies, these are both landscapes and urbanscapes. Most are plein air (painted on location) usually smaller in size (8x10 to 12x16") -- larger paintings are done in the studio from sketches and photos taken on site and the "window dressing" paintings are pure imagination...
